Unknown Rifle

I recently received this rifle through and inheritance and I do not know what it is. It does not appear to have any markings of brand or caliber but it was presented to me as an antique. If anyone recognizes it, I would appreciate and information. I am considering selling it and was wondering what it is worth. Thanks!

    I don't Want to sound rude. But this looks like a gun made for purely decorating purpose. and not a real gun that you could fire. I fit is real it would be a very high end rifle that would need a hands on inspection . Your pictures are good but not detailed enough to prove that it is real.

    That is your best bet. It may just be an over-decorated toy looking thing. Then again, and I hope for your sake it's the 'real deal'. A genuine, bonafide, "my grandaddy had it, and duded it up" Winchester 94 that he had engraved. Sadly, I've seen some top notch work go for next to nothing because someone had no idea what they had.

    Put a magnet on the receiver to see if it's steel. My WAG is that it's made out of Zinc, i.e. potmetal diecasting. Years ago I vaguely remember similar if not the same type type of potmetal replicas offered for mailorder sale. Believe they were actually made in Spain?

    You are welcome.[;)] Over the years, some forum members have been snookered by the Denix replicas. You can work the actions, and they are made of metal & wood, and they have weight. One questioner wanted to know why he coudn't chamber a round, even though he could work the action. Answer: it was a replica, probably made by Denix.[:0][:D]
