Full Length Resize for M1?

When I shot an M1 in competition I did an almost full length resize. The die was set to make sure they would feed and chamber 100% of the time. The die was backed off the shell holder about 1/2 turn IIRC to get positive feed and extend brass life.

I always full length size for the M1. If you want to experiment with backing off a touch as bpost suggests, you can; but avoid neck sizing only. The last thing you want is a semi auto with a floating firing pin and a round that chambers tightly... could potentially cause a slam fire with the bolt not quite locked shut and that would really ruin your day. Or more likely just jam things up good.

    bpost & jonk,

Thanks for the info - you both have reinforced my assumption that reloads for an autoloader should be FL resized.

I'm using CCI milspec primers and I'm interested in maximum brass life, but not at the expense of safety.
