New gun owner, have some ammo questions
I am a new gun owner and recently purchased some guns (still waiting on shipping). I just want to make sure the ammo I purchased will work ok for the guns I purchased. I know this may sound silly but this is what I have.
first one is
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=213774269
and I purchased 410 gauge 3 inch winchester high brass game loads and winchester 45 COLT 255 grain lead round nose ammo.
and for this gun
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=213224862
I purchased winchester super target 12 gauge 2 3/4 inches lead shot 7 1/2 ammo.
I purchased both ammo just for range shooting. please let me know if I am ok with this ammo.
Thanks

Yes, the ammo you bought for those guns will work fine. 0 -
ok great. the guy at the counter worried me a little saying some guns and ammo dont mix well and depending on the types of metal the bore is and ammo it could damage the gun esp the shotgun. 0 -
The ammo appears to be correct for the guns you have purchased. Since neither of the guns are new, if you have any doubts about them I would take them to a competent gunsmith, for inspection and test firing. We have no way of ascertaining that they are safe to fire by just looking at their photos on the net.
I believe that the manufacturer of the Ducktown pistol has been out of business for years. The Mossberg also gives the appearance of having seen substantial use.0 -
I believe the clerk may have been warning you about using STEEL shot in either of those guns - barrel is not compatible with steel - use lead shot only. 0 -
For "social" situations I like the Federal 225 grain lead semi-wadcutter hollow point. 0
