A friend said he has a 700 Sendero chambered for t

A friend has a 700 Remington Sendero chambered for the 25/06 and he told me the barrel has a liner in it. Did I miss something here ???
I know they reline rimfires but didnt figure a centerfire should be done that way ?????

    I'm pretty sure Remington made the Sendero in 25.06. I looked at a few, was considering buying one in that caliber but ended up with a PSS (PPS?) in 7 Rem Mag. The whole relining bit doesn't seem right on - maybe he's talking about skim bedding the action?

    Nope, he said he sent it out to be Mag-Na-Ported and they said they couldn't do it because it had a liner in it.
    He bought it brand new in the late 80's, so no one has messed with it......

    It is not really a liner, that is the barrel. He must have a Remington model 700 Sendero Composite, which has a carbon fiber wrapped barrel with the sendero contour. It is basically a standard contour barrel or smaller that is wrapped in carbon fiber.

    It can't be that either seeing it's a Stainless Steel fluted barrel.....

    Cheaper than dirt had one for sale, here's a link that allows for a larger image. Looks like a regular factory chambering, haven't heard or read about a liner in the barrel. Mebbe Mag-na-port didn't want to do anything near or on the fluting???

    Darn thing sure looks like it has a liner in it !!!!!!!!!!!!
    Never heard of that on a high intensity cartridge before...
    Why would the factory do that ????
    I guess a call to them on Monday may or may not clear it up..
    Any one have a idea about this ??

    i have a fluted stainless and non fluted matte finish in 25-06 as well as a stainless fluted 308 win and none have crowns like yours. real odd. awaiting your reply after calling remington.

    My rem. Sendero sf ll doesn't have a liner either;; 300 win. Mag
