Springfield Armory 1911 , 1915, hammer proble

Folks: The hammer on this unit will not come up to the full vertical position to strike the firing pin when the trigger is pulled. It is not binding in the back of the slide.I have all the parts for repair but am stumped as to the cause. Thankyou

    Are you asking about a 1911 made in 1915 [?]
    Explain in somemore detail as to what it is doing.

    If this pistol has a trigger with adjustable trigger stop it sounds like BUBBA has been working on the full cock hammer hooks but then adjustable trigger stop is catching on the 1/2 cock / safety notch of the hammer. The trigger is not rotating the sear ear enough. The gun needs to have someone to look at it that understands the working relationship between Trigger, disconnestor, sear, 3 leaf spring, Safety and Hammer. Unless you know what you are doing you could end up with a VERY DANGEROUS pistol . I dont want to sound rude but by asking this question it sounds like you don't understand how the trigger group parts work. My advice is take it to a Gun-Smith. If he will let you watch so much the better but for his insurance purpose don't count on him letting you look over his shoulder.

    Thankyou perryshooter.My hands do not work so well on small parts. I was looking for a diagnosis of the problem which you have provided. I will take it to my gunsmith.
