Slide Fire AR15
What does everyone think of the Slide Fire for the AR 15. I just got one and paid an outragous price for the platic stock that looks like it cost about $20 to make BUT it turned my AR into full auto and I have to say it is fantastic. I rattled off 30 rds in about 2 secs and it was flawless. I guess I am paying for the invention costs cause it sure works and comes with a paper that says it is legal.

Looks like a reasonable toy if you like the idea of full auto rate fire (which I don't).
IMO, full auto is a great way to waste a lot of ammunition quickly and burn out your guns barrel.
Like cuban cigars, the attraction here is mostly because its illegal, not because of the usefulness.
But sure, this things looks like one of the better devices that lets you fire faster, even if it costs so much.
Edit: No, I don't smoke Cuban cigars. I don't actually smoke cigars on a regular basis at all, though the rare times I indulge (and we're talking less than once per year), I'll usually go for a good Dominican or Honduran one.
My understanding is that the Cuban cigar industry was decimated after the revolution when Castro nationalized the industry, effectively driving out all the skilled makers and ruining production. (Communism = FAIL). The myth of the superior Cuban cigar remains largely as nostalgia from the past, and because they're banned in the USA.

The analogy is to the full auto gun. Even if I had one, I'd rarely shoot it that way. IMO full auto makes more sense in a submachine gun, where you can (partly) compensate for poor intrinsic accuracy and low individual round power with high firepower. Short of saturation fire during an actual firefight, I wouldn't even know what to do with a full auto AR-15, to tell the truth.0 -
Sounds neat. If it comes with a piece of paper from the manufacturer saying it's legal, then it must be so. I'm sure that piece of paper will hold a lot more sway with the judge than ATF Ruling 2006-2, which says it isn't.

Well I'm a reloader and love reloading. I reload 223 ammo for about 11 cents each and when I fire it in full auto, I do it in bursts of about 10 but it does raise your adrenalin and at my age not much else does. 0 -
Well I read the ATF 200-6 and it states that you have to have one pull of the trigger to initiate an automatic firing cycle. This does not. Your finger has to bump the trigger for each firing. 0 -
If it works and you are enjoying it then more power to you. There have been dozens of these devices introduced over the past thirty years and they all came "papered" stating that the ATF says that they are legal to own and use. In virtually every case that I am aware of the ATF later came back and ruled them all to be machine guns or devices designed specifically to allow full auto fire in a semi automatic firearm. I think that the sands are running out in the hour glass so enjoy yourself while you can. 0 -

the stock that turned your ruger 10/22 was legal for about a few months before the batf reversed the ruling and the manufacture had to track the sold ones down for return... 0 -

The question I have is it was submitted for limited mobility shooters.
Would this bring questions similar to switchbladed knifes which were legal for one armed people but not for anyone else?0
