M1A/M14 guys.....
A couple weeks ago I ordered National Match front sight and rear aperture for My M1A. Today I was fixing to install them and I see it already has a NM front sight. Any special reason it has a NM front sight and a standard rear sight? I bought the thing factory new and that's how it came.

If your M1A was originally a "standard" rifle, then it was either a mistake, or they ran out of standard front sights that day. SA Inc will tell you how your rifle left the factory.

The new NM's from Springfield don't come with a NM rear sight. They probably use the same front on all M1A's. 0 -
I noticed that with mine as well. The front sight says NM on it. However you might measure the thickness of the sight blade between the one you bought and the one on the rifle.
I'd be curious to see if there is any difference.0
