PPSH 43 POLISH RADOM SEMI AUTO PISTOL
I found one of these in a gun shop, came home to search the net about them and found very little. are they safe, reliable, to shoot?
i found some threads about poor quality and problems but they seem to be discussing another brand. the price was $400.00; good price?
the auction sites have them for more money.

Is this the same as PPS-43C? If so, it looks like a super deal. I see several on BG. How are they legal? 0 -

The barrel has to be 16+ inches long, and the semi-auto receiver is U.S. made. The original Polish VZ/43/54 is a selective fire variant of the Soviet W W II PPS 43 submachine gun. I don't see how they could be sold as pistols with a 16" barrel and a fixed stock?0 -
1988RRC....I had one in my hands yesterday in one of my local gunshops. The folding stock is permanently attached to the top of the receiver to make it legal evidently and it is one heavy beast. It is called a pistol for that reason but looks to me like it not much more than a conversation piece not good for much as it is unbalanced and ungainly in its present configuration. It does fire the neat little 7.62x25 round but I would rather fire that in a real pistol like a CZ52 or a TT-33 rather than this non-rifle....now if you could make the folding stock move you would have something neat, but evidently illegal. Sad[V] as the weapon has a great history and is (was) every bit as good as the PPsha and most who used it thought it better. 0 -

On the PPS-43C he barrel is NOT 16", it is 250mm ~9.8". Then the stock is locked in the folded position. Since it is under 26" OAL, has a barrel less then 16", and has never been a rifle (virgin receiver) it is nothing more then a pistol.

It is NOT illegal to make the stock move. IF you do that though it is no longer a pistol. It would become a NFA item called SBR, see the NFA FAQ at the top of this page.0 -

OK, thanks didn't know that at all. Only though they sold them as rifles with a long barrel and fixed stock. Makes you wonder how many goobers soon as they get them home, unlock the supposedly fixed stock to make short barreled rifles out of them.0 -
