I have a trooper mkIII and i am trying to find grips for it. What is the difference in the frame and grips of the trooper mkIII and the python or king cobra?

Sounds decent. I have a 6" colt trooper III that I bought new in 1975 for $225.00 Its reliable and dependable. With the 8" barrel it should be deadly accurate as well.
Its a proven frame and with the marking defect should make it rare.

I doubt the markings would make much difference to collector value, but it sounds like a decent enough price.

    I can't see it.

That's a "collector" gun at a "collector" price. You are a shooter, not a collector. The Trooper isn't a competition gun. The 8" barrel makes it suitable only for carrying to the range; it's too awkward to carry afield. Plus, it's too muzzle heavy for offhand shooting.

If you want a .22 revolver, I think you'd get more fun out of a Colt Diamondback or a S&W K22 with a 6" barrel. But, that's just me.
