Just aqbout any of them are good, except the 4 I am about to list...

    Vulcan

    Blackthorne

    Hesse

    CAI

The 4 above all have quality issues, that are severe.

What features are you looking for? I did not see Ruger on the good list, so I will add that one. They have a gas piston driven system.

I've been doing a little research
and I've come up with two:
Bushmaster or Dpms but I'm not sure of
the chrome lined barrel or Stainless.
I have long range rifles so this rifle will
    be a 100 yd plinker.
I'm not in anyway a novice with bolt
guns but these ar types I know nothing
in fact I never wanted one until
I took the plunge with the 6.8SPC.
Any info or help will be greatly
    appreciated.
There are a few on the KTP used gun website
and I intend to buy one of these with your
    help
    Thanks-ronny

Airdale's list is good. I would like to add BCM - Bravo Company and LMT.

If you are looking for a fun and gun plinker any of the decent manufacturers will work for you.

As far as the SS or chrome barrel, the chrome barrel will clean easier than the SS. Having both, I like the chrome lined barrels for this. SS has its place though, and would likely be more accurate.

Try Olympic Arms upper with a 1/7 stainless steel barrel on any other lower. Don't care for chrome-lined barrels but the bolt carriers are a plus though. Flat top for better sight platform.

i would advise you to stay away from dpms and bushmaster unless your dealers have the rifle you want in stock the reason being ive been waiting9 months now for va dpms in 7.62x39 caliber ive been there when my dealer calls them about a shipping date they keep saying at least another 30 days i just talked with my dealer on saturday and told him to cancel the dpms rifle i am ordering one from olympic arms they said ill have it in less than 2 weeks when i had a question about the bushmaster rifle i bought it concerned scope mounting on a handle the tech rep said i shouldnt have bought the gun because they dont make anything to raise the line of sight so i could get a correct cheek weld i just recieved a kit from cabelas for 19.95 that corrected my problem with the mounting of the scope if you check out olympic arms.com website look under warranty and satisfaction warranty both were very enlightening to me i had never heard of a satisfaction warranty hank k
