i'm thinking of buying an m9, though not sure from which company. i recently read that taurus models are better because the metal is of a higher quality. it was off the net, posted by a gunsmith, or at least that's what he said. anyhow, i know that this place is the SOURCE for this kind of stuff and was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on the matter. 0 -

Taurus is not even in the same book as Beretta, let alone on the same page. All the Taurus does, is some models LOOK like the Beretta.

Which particular guns are you talking about?
In general, I think most observers think the original Berettas are better than the similar Taurus knockoffs.
If you're talking about the Taurus 92, it is a Beretta design, originally built on actual Beretta machinery in south america.
The designs of the current Beretta 92 and the Taurus have diverged over the years, but the Taurus and Beretta are largely similar in overall design.
This is probably the best of the Taurus auto pistols, though I think most observers still think the Beretta is better.0 -
