uberti revolver strength

hello out there in gunbroker land. i baught a uberti/cabelas .45 lc. and i want to know if i can load it hotter than a colt? is it as strong as a .45 lc blackhawk? i believe this pistol as manufactured in 2010. thanks in advance for your helful advice, anyone?

    Modern metallurgy and steels will make a bit stronger than an antique Colt, but it is nowhere as strong as the Ruger Blackhawk. The Buffalo Bore and such +P loadings would damage it.

    You would be safest to stick with factory (Winchester and Remington) equivalent loadings in the Uberti.

    I don't know specifically about your recently made Uberti. Years ago when I was in the retail gun business we were selling Single Action Italian made replicas under the Mitchel name. We sold a couple chambered for .44 Mag to one customer, he brought them back couple weeks later because of timing and lock-up problems. Although they were very nice looking guns cosmetically and sold for slightly less then the Ruger Blackhawk, they just couldn't handle a steady diet of .44 Mag. I wouldn't push your luck with the Uberti you got from Cabelas's. If you want to use hot hand or factory loads get a Blackhawk.

    None of the single action SAA copies are strong enough for the +P 45 Colt loads. They should be loaded with ammo that does not exceed the original specifications of the black powder loads. This includes the New Vaquero from Ruger. The old Vaquero was made on the Blackhawk size frame, which is much larger, and stronger than the SAA size frames. If you want to be able to hot rod the 45 Colt, the Ruger Blackhawk is your best option.

    Stick with the mild cowboy loads in your Uberti made replica.
