When were barrel Wedges first used
Folks,
Can anyone tell me approximately when barrel wedges replaced barrel pins on shotguns and rifles? I am in the process of designing an educational program and would like to use one of my guns, but can't pin point when it is from. It is a sxs, flint shotgun. There are no marking on the barrel or locks. The stock has been replaced at some point in the past and as such has no markings (nor checkering). My camera is dead, so I can't even post any pictures at this time. Thanks.

I don't know exactly when wedges first appeared, but from about 1790 onward they became more and more common.
