k-98 serial number match-up sight?
years ago i thought it would be a good idea for people that had collectable military firearms to be able to go to a web sight that could help them match up their guns as far as serial #'s. in other words, find the bolts and such that actually were originally in their guns before they were screwed with and rearsenaled. i found that sight a few years ago that someome did, thinking as i did. lost that address! does anyone know of this sight? thanks.

Howdy redman,
By accident, well, a bit of boredome really, I looked at your posting. From the title, I thought you were asking about a particular '98 rifles sight-- like in "front sight" or "rear sight".
But, aha, now having read it, you want a particular web-SITE. Got it. Maybe you'd want to re-state the title with that spelling for clarity? (dang language anyways, eh?).
Anywho, I know what you're takling about, but not a web-site in particular for the K-98's. I was part of a forum that did the same with SMLE rifles, and found a guy we had serial numbers about only about 200 rifles apart, out of millions. Small world.
But after after too numerous computor crashes though the years, (and a dimming memory), cannot recall that web-site forum. Maybe try surplusrifle.com, or curios and relics forums, etc, etc? If you do find out the one you're looking for, would like to see here, too.
