30-06 grenade blanks???
looking to buy or hand load 30-06 blanks for garand M7 grenade launch.
can i use milsurp m2 ball cases?
the practice blanks for the m1 are crimped, but i was told they are lower pressure than the grenade blanks, M3.
any ideas?
thanks

M1909 Blanks are loaded to much lower pressures than the M3 Grenade Launching cartridge. The Blanks use about 12grs of a special double base powder specifically for blanks while the M3 is loaded with 40grs of IMR 4895 and about 5 grs of black powder added in for good measure!
Blanks typically use lower grade or condemned brass, but the M3 needs a case equal to the standard M2 Ball round in strength. I am sure that you can make your own M3 cartridges, but since the numbers actually fired are going to be quite small (the grenade launching novelty wear off quickly)I prefer to simply purchase these specialty rounds rather than bother making them.0 -
thanks mark!

do you have a supplier?
thanks
