cross bolt

Hi....Can someone tell me what year U.S. Repeating Arms started to use the cross-bolt safety on the model 94 Winchesters? BT

  Either 1990 or 91 if I remember correctly. I know I was at a Winchester Collectors show in 1991 and was shown a 94 with the crossbolt safety. Not sure if they had been out awhile or if Win was about to introduce them.
