jc higgins sears and roebuck model 20

I just aquired a J C Higgins Model 20 12Gauge pump for free. It went through a house fire so the bluing is in rough shape, the metal is strog and everything works yet however. I am planning on doing a tactical shotgun project out of it and was wondering if Mossberg pistol grips interchange with these? it looks like they will. Any help is appreciated.

  It's not an exact fit, but yes it can be done.
  
  I have used Mossberg Model 500 butt stocks fit the HS model 20. The Mossberg trggerguard fits further back, than the HS. Other wise everything else matchs up.
  
  You will have to cut out about 1/2 in more into the pistol grip to make it fit. Takes a bout 1/2 hour with a Dremel, if you are handy.

  Will the tactical forends fit without modification? the pistol grip I can modify easily.
