rubber butt pad stock material?
I am looking for advice on what I can use to attach to the butt of a stock to act as a very thin (a 1/4" maximum width) rubber surface that can be attached without screws if necessary. I have several guns that would be the perfect length for me without a recoil pad (the recoil is non-existant anyway in these rifles) but I need something to keep the gun from slipping on my shoulder and to cover the old screw holes.

Get a rubber shoe or boot sole from your local shoe repair shop. They make an excellent buttpad when trimmed fit properly. And you can get two or 3 buttpads from one sole. I've used one to make myself a couple buttpads. 0 -
Pachmayr makes some 1/2" grind-to-fit rubber pads. You might be able to shave the inner plate down closer to 1/4". Brownells has them. 0 -
How about a shower shoe-flip flop It's what I use on .22 stocks cut down for the grandkids ! Plain old Contact Cement is the best adhesive I've tried on them . 0
