Can anyone tell me
what a Valiant double barrel shotgun crosses over to? Other than the name, serial number and a patent number there is no markings on the receiver. The barrel only has proof tested 16 gauge. Thank you for your help.

Your shotgun is what is commonly referred to as a "Trade Brand Name" shotgun. That is a shotgun that was made by a major maker (and before 1940) for and was sold by a wholesale or retailer who chose the name to go on the gun. Guns with the name VALIANT were made by the Stevens Arms Company for and were sold by the Spear & Company of Pittsburg.PA, a retail sporting goods dealer. I'm not sure which model Stevens gun you have but a gun shop or gunsmith should be able to identify it for you . 0 -
