Private Party Sale

I live in Nevada and Travel to Utah can I do a Private Party Sale or Buy of a Long Gun? In the Past I know I can Buy from a FFL Dealer long Gun only with back ground check.

    This has been discussed ad nauseum. Interstate transaction must go through FFL.

    Inspect the gun in Utah...if you like it, have him ship it to your FFL in Nevada. Do a bill of sale to protect you $$$ and A$$.

    Interstate sales between non licensees are not allowed, the firearm must be shipped to a Nevada FFL for transfer to you.

    Mark, can the OP go to a gun shop out of state, with the seller and do a transfer there?

    I ask since it is legal to transfer a long gun from an FFL from out of state.

    Thanks Mark. That is kind of what I assumed, but you know about assuming.......

    I know there are guys that have local shops they deal with all the time and some even have their FFL's ship guns out for them.

    No because the OP is not a resident of the state (Utah). Both the buyer and seller of a handgun must be residents of the state in which the transaction is taking place.

    So how does that answer the question in ANY way? The OP does not say handgun and I asked about long guns, not handguns...................

    I will repeat;

    Can a person transfer a LONG GUN to a private party at an FFL in the SELLERS state?

    Other states will allow long gun purchases with bordering state residents only.

    Best to research the state before purchase.
