Keep your wallet in your pocket. That auction is being very misleading. The guy states he is in need of cash, then talks this up as being rare. That is NOT a SS bolt or Bolt carrier. The barrel is possibly a NM barrel, but it looks more like a turned down RPK barrel stuck into a regular reciever.

That guy is me, I have never had ANY problem out of this gun... I'm selling it cause i need the money for my hunting truck and with out a scope it's the best gun to sell right now. I'll back all and everything I state,.. with all the doubt bout this gun's legitimacy makes me want to sell a different gun:::: obviousley this gun is more rare than I originally thought... As always thank you guy's for your info I only know what I've learned through trial and error over the last 36 yrs. 0 -

You really need to state in you auction what model this rifle is. This is located on left side of the reciever most of the time up by the front sight. It looks like a NHM-91 that had the original thumbhole stock replaced with a plastic aftermarket stock and the bipod taked off. If it is 86S-7 PRK it would be worth more but in either case it's not all there and not going to command NIB price.0 -

200 rounds in seven years, huh?
Sweets is an ammonia-based cleaner designed to strip copper fouling. It won't dissolve chrome or steel. If it did, it would be useless. . .think about it.
Also, I think I know what this is. Looks like you have a Norinco/Chinese NHM-91 rifle.
These are basically a sporterized Chinese equivalent of the RPK rifle, and they actually did come standard with a stainless bolt and carrier and long barrels. So you probably ARE right about that.
This is what the post-ban import versions look like. Look familiar?
In your case, the dragunov stock and synthetic furniture were probably added as aftermarket parts. My guess is that that the AK-74 style muzzle brake is also a $20 TAPCO aftermarket part.

Well, these are more accurate than typical AKs, but I'm skeptical that you can get 2" 5 shot 100 yard groups with Wolf ammo from ANY gun! I just don't think the AMMO is up to it.
That aside, my original guesstimate on the value of your gun was probably on the HIGH side.
Hate to burst your bubble, but there are half-a-dozen correctly labeled NHM-91 guns listed right now on the auction site from $500-900 and NONE of them have any bids. Looking at the "completed auctions", none of these guns have fetched more than $750, and at least one sold for under $400!
Its not a bad gun for what it is, but I think in the current climate, you're basically looking at a $600 gun.0 -
That does look like my gun... I wouldn't sell it for $600 for sure though... It does shoot under 2in groups with wolf ammo though. Just like my ruger m77 300 win. Mag would shoot 2 in groups at 200 yds. With rem. Core locks 150 gr. , but with hornaday it was 3 1/2 in, just depends on what the gun likes. My sendero 300 was pulling 1 1/2 @ 100
Till I switched to black hills gold in barns triple shock 180 gr. Then I was shooting 1/2 groups... Even cold bore 10 -

That little tidbit would have saved considerable time. Is it by chance import marked by CSI out of Ontario, CA (who were about an hour east of me)? These were built up to beat the '89 Bush Ban, had commercial wood stocks that were made by bishop (if I remember right) and they did have SS carriers and bolts. I thought that we were talking about actual pre ban AKs from Norinco and not an NHM91. In todays market and in original configuration with it's bipod you'd be looking at around $700. Altered like your rifle makes it worth about $600 (100 less)...Sorry.0 -
