Aftermarket Mosin Stocks?

FYI, gun itself is a stock Russian M44 carbine (with NON counterbored barrel). I took off the bayonet. Cost was $110 + shipping and transfer fee. If you have a C&R you can waive the transfer fee. Buttpad cost $15. Cartridge sleeve cost $5. Green canvas sling came with gun at no added cost. Foam under sleeve + tape to hold it down was free [;)]. 2x Leupold pistol scope was $80 used. SK scope mount cost about $80. So I actually have quite a bit more money in the accessoried than the gun!.
Gun does about 5" groups at 100 yards with cheap milsurp ammo. That's with the atrocious trigger, zero attempt at accurizing, and zero attempt to try different ammo types. I bet I could get it down to 2" groups with a trigger job, free-floating the barrel, and good loads.

Well, the topic of a Mosin sniper rifle is a whole other thing I'm not going to get into here. Suffice it to say that it "can" be done, but I think if you want a "real" sniper rifle, its probably going to be easier/more cost effective to start with a different platform.

ATI has a synthetic Monte-Carlo stock that is not particularly special to look at (its black plastic) but its adequately functional at around $60, and much more comfortable/ergonomic than the standard military stock, which was literally designed for use by 19th century Russian peasants!

"Richards Microfit" will produce you a semi-custom wood gunstock in any of a variety of shapes or wood types for the Mosin, starting at around $120 and going up to as fancy as you want to get.
