Remington 870 Sticks Help
I have a Remington 870 Express Magnum and Super Magnum in 12ga. Both stick after 4 to 5 rounds. The spent case sticks in the chamber and the extractor rips off the case rim when you attempt to eject. Anyone know how to fix? Tried three different brands ammo and still the same problem.

Most likely a rough or dirty chamber... 0 -
Check you cleaning technique. 0 -
Both of my Wingmasters do the same thing .
Only happens with the cheaper shells .
Get a 12 GA chamber brush and use it After a couple of boxes are shot .
If you can't find the chamber brush ,get a 10 gA BORE BRUSH .0 -
Barrels and extractors were poorly finished, contact Remington on where to send them for repair. 0 -
Thanks! Will try the chamber brush and run through a few more boxes. Always figured and 870 for an "Eat Anything" kind of gun. 0 -
If it's not actually a poorly finished chamber, and it certainly could be, then, as already mentioned, there's probably something stuck in there. I had that happen once years ago. I could see a little spot of something in there and couldn't get it out with basic cleaning so I put a chamber brush in a drill with lots of Kroil on it and ran it for a couple of minutes. Whatever it was went away and so did the problem. 0 -
These guns were clean as the mother virgin mary. The drill brush combo sounds like it may work though. I will give that a shot. Could it be that the chamber is cut oversize and the brass flares too much? Just a thought. 0 -
If cleaning it good doesn't do the trick, Remington will stand behind it if it's a manufacturing problem. 0 -

My Wingmasters are all 1970's vintage .
They will work with all the premium ammo .
I only have problems when I use the cheap Winchester and Remington shells with the steel base .0 -
The chambers were poorly polished out on the Express models. The cheap WalMart bulk ammo hangs up even worse. You can probably burnish the chambers yourself, but once you mess with it, Remington will tell you the warranty is void.
This is a common problem, and Remington has been taking care of it. Send it to them, and if you have one of the junky extractors, they'll replace that while they have it.0
