Reloading .223 givette please chime in

Are you saying it's not a good idea to use fired brass picked up at the range NOT fired from your rifle? Or using fired brass from anywhere other than your own rifle, UNLESS a person uses small base dies?

    In ANY semi-auto rifle, it is a good idea to use small base dies, even if the brass did come from your rifle, or if id didn't. The small base resizer, takes the brass down to original factory dimension tolerences. Provided that everything else is done properly, it will ensure reliability.

    matwor, you made a good point. (Item in blue, above.) My statement stands, and as you were so kind to point out, (as I didn't mention it), I'd imagine especially if the brass came from a rifle that may not necessarily have your exact chamber dimensions. Thanks, Joe
