Broomhandle Mauser value questions
A friend of mine has one of these and is curious as to the value. Who here is the resident expert on these? It seems to be in remarkable condition, all matching, but I'll let the pics speak for themselves. Any input would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Less he needs the money bad? Tell him to hold on to it, until things turn around economically. To many folks out of work, and homes in foreclosure. From your photos looks to be in excellent condition, two/three years from now, it would be worth just that much more. 0 -
matwor: To the Mauserites, it's a 'cherry' pre-war commercial. For replacement insurance purposes,
I'd say the claim worth is $2,500.
If your friend is toying with the idea of selling,
list it starting at $1,000, and there will be bids!
If he lists it, two photos of the bolt retaining block
(depicted in first photo), from a front and top angle,
is important to those who will be willing to spend the
ka-ching. That area is the 'odometer' of the gun on C-96's,
and the one in your photos shows no significant wear in that area! Thanks, Joe

Yeh. I could tell from the original photos that the block
area was okay. Compare yours with other C-96 Mausers, and
you will get an idea of what I am refering to. The new
photos, (which is what should be in the auction, if that's
the route this is taking) should be included. It shows a
gun with very little mileage.

agree with both above. very nice gun. is the stock numbered to the gun?
does he have the leather "holster"? (see below) just saw one sell for $1800 with an obvious repro stock and no leather.
