Rem. 7600 pump in 35 whelen
A friend just aquired this gun. He's not really a gun person, so he asked me what I thought about it for payment he took on sum mechanic work he did. The gun register is covered in deer engravings and I would say the wood is 94 percent and the blueing is 96 percent. Before today I never gave any thought to the caliber, but reseraching it online has made me interested. I can't find any pump's for sale. The gun was the car guy's grandpa's.

Well, that cartridge, can get near 375 H&H energies on the 30-06 parent case. It is suitable for anything on the North American continent.
It is a dandy rifle for places that do not allow semi-automatics...like Pennsylvania.

Do a search over on the auction side. The are usually several 7600s in 35 whelen being offered over there and you should be able to get a fix on what both new and used are going for. Remember in a down economy it is a buyers market, especially when it comes to used rifles in odd chamberings. I personally would snap it up if the price is right, say 75% of new. But, I would want to shoot it first and verify accuracy, 1 1/2" @ 100yds or so, and function first. The 35whelen is a great cartridge especially at closer ranges on larger game and would be a great addition to any gun colection..... 0 -
