Head space is a critical measurement and part of building the gun. It is not set by the user.

As a owner at the time of cleaning do you need to check it as well or is it set at the factory.

    bk2basx,

Hello, and welcome to the forums here on Gunbroker.com

You state that you are buying a complete RRA upper reciever...is that correct? If so, it comes complete with the bolt and bolt carrier group, already headspaced at the manufacturer. You will never need to headspace this. It is already done. The modular construction of the AR platforms, actually let you interchange bolts, like if you break an extractor, or extractor spring, you can just replace the bolt if you have a spare with you in the field. Even after cleaning, you are using the same bolt and bolt carrier group when reassembling. Provided you needed to ask that question, I would assume that head spacing should be left to a gunsmith with the tools and the know, anyway.

Thanks for your help I appreciate it I think it's best to get this cleared up before I make the purchase so there's no confusion.
