mod. 52a need to find the year made

i have a springfield mod.52a sigle shot 22L S LR manufactured by j stevens arms co. does anyone know how to find the year it was made. there is no serial number anywhere. there is however a number 25 inside of a circle on the left side of the barrel if that means anything. any feed back is appreciated.

  Is it bolt action or a rolling block rifle? I have looked through my book and the only thing I have found is a Mod52. Stevens model numbered their rifles all over the place so I shall keep looking.

  I have that exact gun - seems to be very rare. It's a nice little 22 that I got as a kid in 3rd grade (1963) and have kept ever since. I won't sell it, but will hand it down to one of my sons someday. Would like to find more info on it.
