What is the best way to prevent the rear dove tail sight to remain on the slide. I have though about using locktight but want it to say properly?

Does a compensator make that much of a difference for the 1911?

    Any info would greatly help

Woodsman is 1951 the 45 is 1921 . The thing most people don't realize is a 95% pistol can be worth twice as much as a 90% pistol and a 90% can be worth twice as much as a 80 % . on top of that a 99% gun that is one that has been refinished is worth about one forth the price of a 90% pistol with original finish . For these reasons Pictures are the only way to even come CLOSE to a value. For insurance it is mostly a moot point value it at what makes you feel good. Then find on the auction side of Gunbroker and print out listing of some pistols like yours.Insurance companies will try to low ball you unless your guns are insured under a stated value policy. Then you pay premium on what you state the value to be. If gun is a family piece I would start woodsman at $600.00 and 1911 at $1500.00
