Help identifying a barrel

Anyone know what this fits? I suspect it is an aftermarket barrel, it is 18.5 inches long and marked 44 mag. Thanks in advance.

  Is it me or is the extractor groove cut on the LEFT side of that thing?! Seems pretty confusing! Other than that useless bit of info, I got nuthin', sorry!

  Looks like it was started for the marlin rifle, but not finished. No threads etc.
