If our folks can't help you? You might try the rimfire central site, there have been numerous threads and field reports about it on there. I like what I have been hearing, but do to the cost of the ammo and the loss of velocity of the .22 Mag. from the short barrel KelTec, I'm going to personally pass until they come out with one in .22 LR.

I e-mailed Kel-Tek and was told that there is a .22 LR kit in thw works
This pistol with a .22 LR kit would be great if the price is reasonable.

The pistols are so popular and in such short supply that I have seen scalpers trying to sell them for $500, even though list price is around $325. It almost brings to mind the Dirty Harry craze 30 years ago when Model 29's were being marked up 100% or more.

a local gun shops counter guy got one of the first out, fired one mag and it "broke" he sent it back and it returned " fully " functional. it has a very light trigger. and the pistol itself is very light, the 22 mag must shoot an 18" flame out the muzzle , it is accurate , but he says still has failures to chamber on a reg. basis. even so he still loves it for what it is.

My 2 shoot almost as well as my brace of Grendels; light, accurate, hard-hitting (despite those that claim too much velocity drop, it only takes 2 shots to drop a Popper set for .45s), and very much more "ergogrippy" than the squared-off Grendel grip. The Firesights are kinda getting silly-I'd prefer a set of Sig#6 nite sights, but they take getting used to as well.
    Overall, a very nice pistol.

    PMR-30 Status Update III
    01-14-2011
Hello again from Kel-Tec! We felt it necessary to give another status update on the PMR-30 for those who have been waiting very patiently.

As you probably have read from our previous statements, the PMR-30 has had some speed bumps to hitting full production. We finally had gotten everything up and running in full at the beginning of December, which unfortunately happened to lead right into our annual two week Holiday break. During this break (from December 17-January 2), the factory is completely shut down so that all employees can spend time with their families. This also means no shipments are sent, no mail received, no repairs received, no emails received, no phone calls received, no web-store orders processed or shipped, etc. until our return.

Since our return on January 3 we have continued to produce the PMR-30, although there was a bit of set-up time when we first came back since the machines had been completely shut down for 2 weeks. As it stands, the PMR-30 is shipping consistently and we expect it to ship regularly from now on. We still have a very large back-order to work through so it will still be a little bit before they start to become readily available and easy to find.

We apologize for the wait some customers have had to endure, it certainly isn't intentional. We gain no benefit from not shipping products, although some distributors and dealers have seemed to have found ways to benefit from this. As an added note, Kel-Tec does not engage in price gouging on any level. All products shipped to distributors are sold at a flat rate that reflects the original MSRP. That being said, we have no control over distributors or dealers in regards to their prices (I know the inflated prices have frustrated many looking to purchase), all we can provide is a suggested retail. The rest is up to the discretion of the distributors and dealers selling them, and the customers purchasing them.

I waited until this had played out as I did not want to take a slot from someone with experience with the PMR30.

If you want a .22 Mag autoloader that shoots nice, you may want to consider an AutoMag II. There are a number on the auction side in various barrel lengths, and if mine is representative of the lot, they are a nice and smooth shooting pistol.

6" barrel (good sight radius), fully adjustable rear sights, smooth cycling, and mine is ammo friendly with a 40 grain or larger projectile. High velocity 30s are not 100%, though they seem to cycle well once the pistol warms up.

There are some cartridges that just don't make good pistol rounds.
22mag,22 hornet,22 jet, 5mm mag. It can and has been done but you are starting off with a problem in burn rate and cartridge shape, even more so in a semi auto. Wait a while to let it sort out before you buy.
I am watching too cause I like light, thin frame, large mag capacity, high velocity carry pistol and reasonable ammo price.
