WTK CETME is very hard to rack the bolt
i've got a CETME with a century receiver gun that is very hard to operate. Seems to fire ok, but is just too hard to rack without hitting the operating handle with something. Any ideas on how to fix it? Is it just a good cleaning needed or what?

Sounds like a twisted cocking tube 0 -
If you never cleaned your CETME after you bought it, I'm amazed it'll shoot at all.
CETMEs were / are one of the most notoriously ham handed builds the ham hands at Century ever did.
The first thing you need to do is clean the rifle. Then clean it again. And once more will probably do too. You'll be amazed at the crud that comes out
Next thing, you'll want to google, "ground bolt cetme" and really become paranoid.0 -
Actually i traded into it from a customer. Guess i'll have to see how to disassemble this bolt assembly and see if i can get this thing operating easier. 0 -
CETME is a different animal. Consider this an educational experience. 0 -
I have one with wood furniture on it that I hand picked years ago from J&G. it runs like top, eats and spits any of brand dog chow I feed it.

It sounds like the cocking handle is out of spec in relation to the bolt carrier ...
The operating handle acts like a cam-lever to disengage the rollers which lock into the trunnion when the bolt is closed, then there is only spring pressure after that and the rest of the charging operation should be easy.
The handle attaches to a tube referred to a operating handle support. Between the support and the bolt carrier there should be a very narrow gap, just narrow enough that the bolt carrier doesn't impact it when the bolt is locked.
Although the carrier in a CETME is slightly longer, it uses the same principal ...

Or when the flat was folded, it wasn't done correctly. 0
