Scope mounts

hi

i am putting a scope on a new rifle.a friend said to use high mounts.now i always mount my scopes as close to the barrel as i can get.always thought that would be more acurate.Listening to my friend i was curious if it matters?Thinking about triing it but it does not seem like it would be beneficial to me.woundering what othere people think. thanks for the time.

  Go to Brownells website, their catalog had at least one or two offering the last I knew.

  That will keep you busy finding the right one for your application, When dealing with the Dovetail style (also known as 22 base, rimfire base, airgun base, 3/8th's base or tip off base) I have found that the one piece mounts do a much better job holding the scope in a secure fashion.

  Yes, there are several, made by Burris, Leupold, Bushnell, and Weaver. That is a 3/8 dovetail by the way, on most 22 rifles.
