Walther PP early "RFV"
I recently came across this Walther PP. It has the correct holster(I've been told) but no magazine. I was told that the RFV Designation on the front of the grip puts this pistol into the 3rd reich, which would be hitlers finance group of some sort. Any truth to this? Im sure someone here could shed some light on the issue.

Excellent Photos!, wish all our questioners could provide photos such as yours.
Your information is correct. The serial number dates it to the first quarter of 1938. The marking on the grip is for what the krauts called the reichsfinanzverwaltung, with inventory number. With that date the holster might be the original issue?
Unfortunately the condition of the pistol and holster aren't that great. Cosmetics is a big thing to collectors, present condition will have a negative affect on value.0 -
rufe,
I used to have one of those "RFV" PPs. The NAZIs loved to mark things. Doesn't "Reichsfinanzverwaltung" stand for Reich Financing Administration (or something very close to that)?0 -
Thanks, I do my best [8D].
What do you think this gun is worth? It is missing the magazine(not sure if i mentioned that)0 -

PP's were common pistols both before and after the war. Both repo and original magazines are out there. Of course if you want a original wartime PP mag, in good shape, that is contemporary with the pistol it will be spendy. A Triple K repo nowadays would probably be at least $30.
Because of the poor condition of the pistol and holster, my WAG is that they would be in the $300-$500 range.0 -
well that's kinda disappointing. Since I posted this up, I actually came across a broomhandle as well, ill Post that up here in a little when I get time. 0
