    You will want to insure for full replacement value. You are in the 1200-1500 category depending on if you have the box, papers and original accessories.

    Here in Eastern PA - SP-1 in v.good to excellent condition are selling closer to 2 grand w/ 20" barrels (we sold two early last year, brought in by a collector's widow). Saw one carbine (w/16" barrel) sell for $2500 at a gun show. All three were in low excellent condition - of course no forward assist on any of them.

    Jeez, I just picked one up for $1100 at the GS in Dec here.

    Here in NY thats a $2000 gun .. Of course we have the "assualt weapons ban mirror law " so those Pre Bans go for a hefty price tag..

    32,000ish is not low, my sp1 is 7,8xx (1967) and i would think that 2K

    $2000 with box papers and original mag and sling in nra excellent condition.
    would have been $2500 during the panic. it will appreciate in value as time goes on.
    great gun.
    i paid $1800 5 yrs ago for lnib with 3 digit serial number and was happy to get it.
