beretta 92 and xd9 mags
I read in an auction for a beretta 92 mag that it could be milled in a certain spot on the mag and used in an xd9. Is this true and is the reverse also true(xd9 mag in a beretta)? I have a beretta 92 and just bought a xd9 subcompact (haven't recieved it yet). It would be great if the mags were interchangeable with a little modification.

I don't know if its true or not, but the mags do look similar, so it seems plausible that you could modify the full sized mag from one to fit in the other (or even maybe both).
XD9 magazine (left) Beretta (right):

You're not going to get your subcompact XD mags to fit into a full sized Beretta in any case. Going the other way may be possible, if you don't mind the mag sticking out of the bottom of your gun by an inch or whatever.
My take on this is that with both Beretta and XD mags being readily available and not terribly expensive, I don't think there is all that much advantage to doing this. Proper mags will probably fit better and be more reliable.
If you have the correct mag, why not use it? This sort of conversion is probably better left to times when you can't get the mag you need, its really expensive, or its a real emergency when you might need to share mags between different guns.0
