Winchester M-1 carbine

I just picked up a Winchester M-1 Carbine and would like to find out when it was made. The serial number is 5739XXX. Is there a website for dating these?

  All Winchester M1 carbines were made during WW2. Yours was made during the middle of production. Precise assembly dates were not kept.

  If you can find someone with the reference book War Baby you can narrow the production date to with in about three months or less.
