A Question for the AR 15 Guys
Anybody have a favorite place where I can get national match front and rear sights for an AR 15? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I don't know specifically about the National Match sights, but Brownells probably has the best assortment of various spare parts then any other supplier. Check their on-line catalog of give their customer service reps a call Tues, don't know if they will be open Mon? 0 -
www.bushmaster.com listed under competition parts.
www.brownells.com - national match sight kit.
Just two of the places I found [8]0 -
Don't get hung up on the name "National Match"; there is no military-specified standard for NM sights on the M16-type rifle.

Ok, well I want a standard A2 type sight that has a smaller rear aperture and a thinner front post.
I found a nice looking rear flip up on the Bushmaster site that dcs shooters linked, but their .052" front post is not much thinner than the grade/battle(?) sight I have now and still way, way to big. I want to get down in the .035" range for a front post.
As far as Brownells goes, I must be an idiot. I have looked before, and just looked again, and I can't find any national match/small dimension M16/AR15/M4 type sights there.
Of course I've also looked on the auction side and have not found anything there either.
Thanks all so far.0 -

How about Yankee Hill ?? Just a thought, the one we have is a little different than the one linked. It mounts on a rail, pins are changeable.

That is the exact front sight I have, just need a smaller diameter post for it. The stock post is .072" across the flats IIRC. You can hide a dump truck behind it at 50 yards. I took the post out and chucked it up in a drill and turned it off to around .035". The only problem is I only have flat black spray paint to refinish it with, and I'm sure it will come right off as soon as I get gun cleaner on it.
I like the front posts in the link drygulchdan posted, and the Bushmaster rear flip up aperture. I would like to get it all at one place though just to save some shipping, but that's no big deal.0 -

Call them and tell them what you want. They will make it for you.0 -
Really, you got to be kidding. NM means nothing for sights on any AR15/M16. The barrel is your heart & sole in this riffle & they are all off from the barrel nut torsion. Any sight will do if you can maintain Zero. I find the best place for a red dot or a rear sight is above the barrel mounting nut. You may want to get an off-set rail mount. Best of luck to you sir. 0 -

FIRST THE AR IS A RIFLE, NOT A RIFFLE [:0][B)][xx(]
SECOND, the guy wants peep sights NOT optics [:(]
You need to read the posts better [;)]0
