pennsylvania rifle
I bought a black powder rifle at an antique auction last week. It was a side percussion set trigger octagon 39" barrel K. Tryon & Co. rifle about .37 cal rifled. Tiger maple stock with engraving on hammer, lock, and barrel, and a name engraved on the barrel. Brass hardware and patch box. Some wood missing around the lock with powder burn on wood and pitting around the nipple and lock. Really used! Minor cracks in the stock and dings, looks used. Operation is unpredictable or I don't know how to use the double tigger. I paid $800 for it and really don't know it's worth. Any ideas???

If you can't dependably pull the rear trigger til it sets, then touch off the shot with a light pull on the front trigger, then it is worn or out of adjustment.
I won't second guess the value. You bid it in.0 -
