For the most accurate appraisal it should be taken to a knowledgeable/honest dealer, for a hands on.

If you want our folks help in this matter, you will have to provide quality photos.

The link below gives instructions for posting photos.

If it's No. 714 it's most likley by John Dubiel in Ardmore. Joe was his son and worked much later.

I am in Ardmore, OK and live at the address where I was born in 1924. John Dubiel was a master gunsmith in every sense of the word here with Hoffman Arms. Hoffmans, dating from the 1920s here are World-Class, among the highest quality and sought after American made guns. I remember as a kid riding my bicycle out the the 'gun factory' where Mr. Dubiel ran his shop after Hoffman had moved out.

Joe Dubiel was his son, a couple years ahead of me in highschool. In 1949 he had a gunsmith shop here and did a couple jobs for me. Later he was in Sherman/Denison, TX where all the above reference was generated.

I posted those links because the OP asked for any information. I was pretty sure somebody with more specifics would come along.

FWIW, Elmer Keith was a big fan of Dubiel's rifles. He thought John Dubiel's 7mm created by necking down the 300 H&H Magnum was the finest all-round cartridge made. There were several others as well; see his Keith's 1936 Big Game Rifles and Cartridges.
