When Karl made these triggers he supplied a short(~1-1/2"), narrow , thin piece of steel with a 90 degree short 1/8" lip on the end. This was used to insert in the hole in the guard and hook the release slot and pull down enough to release the bolt. Many installed release buttons or other material including fish line to make the job easier.

Good info, Brian.. I would guess that tool was easily misplaced.. I didn't have one with my 52/Kenyon..0 -
