    Pictures?
    Markings?
    Barrel length?

    SN 8377=1874

Mixed numbers might indicate an "artillery model" overhauled in the 1890s. If it has the right inspectors' marks and other characteristics that only an expert (not me) can determine, it will be interesting. Most of the 1st generation guns I have seen over the past several years were overpriced and slow to sell.

Real "artillery models" produced by overhaul at Colt or Springfield have 5 1/2" barrels, except for a few left at 7 1/2".

There are several Colt Single Action Army experts in here but there's no way to evaluate your revolver without pictures. There are so many variations, models, options and modifications that it is a collecting specialty in itself.

This thread will show you how to post pics and the more the better: http://forums.gunbroker.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=259294
