what is this gun- top eject shotgun
anyone know what this is. got it at my gunshop. it is a pump shotgun that ejects from the top. barrel appears to be damascus. anyone got an idea on type of gung, age, value?

It's a Spencer from the 1880's. Flayderman has a write up on them in his book. Bannerman bought the patent and made them into the early 1900's. There were also some used by the U.S. army, that are ultra rare. If yours has no markings, either it's been refinished or might be something special? 0 -
Darn I have seen that model before not Burgess but I was thinking Spencer. Hard to believe maker did not mark somewhere That is a Factory build not a one of a kind. 0 -
Something different as all the photos of Spencer-Bannerman examples I find have smooth flat sided receivers. Maybe a variant sold by Sears or Wards? 0 -
