Here are some listings from closed auctions. The first is from a 70 Coyote (laminated) that sold for $550.

The second is from a Coyote Lite offered but not sold at $700

25 WSSM is probably not the most popular caliber these days (although I like mine). My SWAG is your's would likely bring $500 to $600.

If it has the stainless fluted barrel maybe $650 + or - $50, helps if you still have the box and other paperwork for it, seems to be good interest in this caliber in a model 70.

    tnelson84,

As 22hipower noted somewhere between $500 and $600 is close. I would say honestly maybe more around the $650 figure. There is a huge difference between the Coyote and Coyote lite. The Coyote, while very accurate I think, is a laminate stock, the Coyote Lite is a well made composite stock. Fajen style with vents for cooling in the forearm. Those typically ran a couple hundred more than the standard Coyote.

The problem is trying to get people to understand the .25 WSSM is a very good round. It suffers from what a lot of rounds do. Gunwriters will come out and say it's the next best thing to a trip to Mars. Then come out a year later and say they told you that this thing was a barrel burner that couldn't hit anything past 300 yds. Or, burned the barrel out in 100 shots. This is IMO the best of the standard WSSM's. You can get 25-06 velocities with it using .257 Roberts loads. Those are reloading analogies in case you weren't aware of that.

I feel that's what the rifle is worth. It may or may not bring that based on a) where you are, b) what you hunt with it, c)How people feel at the moment of how much is this particular Winchester rifle collectible.

Thanks for the information guys, all is appreciated. This is what i was needing. I am thinking about selling the rifle. Like i said in my post, i have had this gun since 2006 and have shot only 25 rounds with it. 23 of the rounds at paper and 2 of them at a coyote. It shoots awesome, but the rounds are getting scarce. The best source seems to be cheaper than dirt, or others like them. I don't reload so it might get kinda hard to get these things as time goes by. I'm not a collector, but an enthusiast, and have been looking at getting a new .243 for my son. I think I would like to sell this rifle to finance the .243. You can probably expect to see this thing in the auction forum pretty soon.

My only advise is to post it longer than shorter time frame. If I'm looking for an unusual item, I may only get to the site once a week if work/family gets busy. I bid on a Coyote Lite last year in 25wssm, prices are down but if its SS I think it will top 600.

On a different note, look at the 257 Roberts too. The +p and super performance ammo makes it almost up to a 25wssm. I like a 117gr at 2900 better than a 95gr at 3000. It won't go anywhere.
