Remington's Versamax , Berreta Extrema
My old bones are complaining from the Remington 870 I've had for 30+ years, with a stock modification about 20 years ago. I have begun my saving for an Extrema model shotgun from Berreta, having seen no serious problems other than a price that squeezes a blue collar pretty tight.
I recently saw an add for the Remington Versamax, which I think included the ability to adjust the stock by the user. That adjustment saves a $tep for making either gun 'mine', but I don't see the need for it to be adjustable for other shooters, once I fit it to me.
I also saw the recall notice regarding hammer spec problems...I was going to follow both guns while I save the money, or sell something I use less.
Berreta seems to have all the bugs worked out.
Anyone have some "hands on" or other premium advising information.
Thanks in advance..

I would adopt neither of them, and go with the Benelli vinci, unless you really need a 3 1/2 incher. Then it would be a Benelli SBE II.

I have had an Extrema for close to 10 years and it has functioned flawlessly. The Extrema 2 has additional recoil reducing items then the Extrema. You could probably find a good used Extrema on the auction side if you wanted to save some money.
Nothing wrong with the SBE either. My goose hunting buddy has one and it is also a fine shotgun. Ford vs. Chevy0
