1894 Dual Set Trigger
I was wondering how much value would be added to an early 94 that has the "Dual Set Triggers" would be? This gun is very nice older takedown, very nice wood and I would like to get anyones opinion on what would be added for this option(and how rare is this option). Thanks for any help you can give me.

If it is the takedown with the 3 digit serial, its credibility problems far out weigh any value added by double set triggers. 0 -
This is a different gun, same person asking the question. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Just a comment on the "very nice wood" you mentioned in your original post...My experience has been that most takedown 94's I've seen had extra figure wood installed on them. 0 -

There is a premium value for a Model 1894 that letters with the double set trigger option, but it is not a "hard" or "set" number. That stated, my observations have been that an original set trigger Model 1894 will sell for about 10 - 15% more tham on with a standard trigger in identical condition.0 -
Thanks Bert for the help. I have ordered the factory letter and I will have to wait and see what it says. When I met Warren in Cody, I asked about the accuracy of these letters and he said that it really depended on the person documenting the notes at that time. Some would take their time, carefully stating everything, and some would be more in a hurry and not be so thorough with it. All I can do is see what the letter says and go from there. Thanks again for all your help.

Warren Newman is a really nice fellow, but he has limited knowledge of the factory ledgers. Next time you make it to Cody, visit with Jessica and Connie.
In regards to what Warren told you, there is a small amount of truth to it, however, and in the vast number of instances, the people who made the entries in the warehouse ledger books were carefull about what they wrote and recorded. The accuracy ratio is in the very high 90-percentile (>98%). Over the years (during my annual two-week visit where I work as am official volunteer in the research office), I have personally looked at several hundred thousand ledger entries.0 -
