1892 winchester in 38-40 DOB

just picked up a 1892 winchester,serial number 777961, 38-40 with part round 24 inch barrel and a take down.over all in very good condition with a ex bore. it has non factory sling swievels on it. what year was it made and is it a semi rare rifle? the madis book says 1915 but it is wrong with some years. thank you eastbank.

  In this case, the DOM is 1915.
  
  With a 1/2 octagon barrel and being a Take Down, it certainly is not a common Model 1892.

  thanks bert,i paid 800.00 for it, i was not to worried about the out side(as long as it was all there), but i like a ex or next to ex bore as i shoot them with cast lead bullets. eastbank.
