ruger scope ring question
I have a ruger 77 in 300rcm, and with the scope I have, I have to really crawl up on the stock to get a full view through the scope. My question is this. Does Ruger make an extension ring in stainless to where I can back up the scope some, or what would be a fix for this problem. I thought about getting a muzzleloader scope that has substantially more eye relief, but not sure that is the way to go or not. Suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

Check Brownells - I think there are extended Ruger rings available. I have a set for my No 1, I think they're make by Leupold?.
You don't need a muzzle loader scope for longer eye relief. Nikon makes a Prostaff 2 to 7X for shotguns that has about 5" eye relief, I use it on a 416 Rigby. The Leupold Rifleman Series and Burris Timberline each have lots of eye relief also.0 -
Probably the best thing to do, is to get the Ruger to Weaver/picatinny base from Burris. That way you can put it as far back or forward as you wish. However, I'm fairly confidant that Burris or leupold makes extension rings.

Ruger makes extension rings. If you contact them, make sure you tell them your problem and whether you need front or rear ring and that you need to move the scope to the rear. 0 -
Thanks for the great advice. I will contact Brownells and then also Ruger. I'm sure with the great advice, I will get this minor problem solved. 0 -
