Springfield by Stevens Model 53B

I finally located the peep sight (e-bay) and purchased for this rifle. Anyone out there have a 53B with the peep sight and front sight intact on their rifle? If so please let me know what to look for the front sight as it is missing. I don't know what height, just know it's a 3/8" dovetail cut in the barrel. I have seen one photo and the front sight had a hood on it, can't tell anything else. Help anyone.

  It is a proprioritary sight made for this and a few other Stevens rifles. It does have a hood and a replaceable insert. Just sold all mine so I can't help with photos.

  Take a look at the Lyman Model 17-A or some configeration of it that they still manufacture. You can call them and see if they know which sight they sold to Stevens for the rifle you have, I have also seen this on the older Savage rifles.
