Help with an old Browning pistol please.
From the estate of a friend's father in law. Can anyone tell me the model number or age on this pistol? Thank you.

It's a Model 1910. From the markings it appears to have been manufactured in the 60's, ( a partial serial number and quality close up photos of all internal/external markings would probably provide a specific year of manufacture.)
Since the passage of the Gun Control Act, law in 1968 prevented the importation of this model, it would have been made before 1968.0 -
pawz68......looks like a FN Browning M1922 in 9mmKurz (.380) produced in Belgium at the Fabrique Nationale D'Armes De Guerre Herstal Belgique for Browning. The American pistols had Browning on the grip, the Belgium guns had FN scrolled on the grip. These pistols were very popular during WWII and were accepted into use by the German Army and Luftwaffe, most in 7.65mm (.32). Police units in Denmark, Belgium, France and Sweden also used them. Very well made and still used today! Hope this helps[^] 0 -

The more I look at it, I think Rufe is right....earlier M1910 and with the Browning on the grip probably the 1955 or later model made for the American/Browning market. The M1922 had a bit longer barrel and is sometimes called the M1910/22.0 -
Thanks all...the serial number is:610377 0 -
